Limoges Porcelain does not have a specific company nor Limoges brand. It is a city in France where Limoges porcelain is made, and is known to be the porcelain capital of the world. So this type of porcelain that is made is named after the city Limoges. Why ? Because it is the only place in the world where the clay Kaolin, the pure white translucent clay they make Limoges out of, can be found.
How to tell my Limoges Box Brand ? You mean the Manufacturer of the Porcelain made in Limoges right ? Treasure hunters are often trying to find Limoges Boxes and collectibles that are not only beautiful, but also authentic. Many Limoges porcelain Box pieces are labeled and Branded as "Limoges" or "French Limoges" are not authentic Limoges from France, but rather rip offs from China. Authentic French Limoges is a porcelain item manufactured in Limoges, France made with the clay Kaolin. When determining if the trinket Limoges box that you have is of value, you can authenticate that it was manufactured in Limoges and determine the time frame in which it was made by checking the mark on the bottom or back of the piece. Below is a list of the most common and popular Limoges Factories, Arteliers, Importers, Decorators and their markings and I guess an American would be prone to call it their Brands. If you cannot find what you are looking for below it is beyond the scope of Limoges Boutique to help you. Limoges Boutique only retails modern Limoges pieces. I would suggest finding an Antique Limoges Porcelain dealer for help.
(psst... you mean marks and markings)

Limoges Dinnerware Markings

Porcelain production of modern day, has stuck by its roots in production from it's inception. Only master skilled artisans know the secret ways of creating Limoges Porcelain, and to present modern day it has become an art of Antiquity. To this day there still remain a dozen or so small factories that produce this valuable porcelain, and various ateliers and decorators specialize to hand-paint the painting and hand-craft the metal work. Lets look further at the history.
There are thousands of Limoges boxes made by many different factories and so many different markings of the factories, workers, importers, producers, decorators, and ateliers. For 240 years, many small ateliers have created thousands of little "chefs d'Oeuvre" and it's impossible to list all of them. The most valuable pieces are the one that are very details & intricate and are clearly signed hand painted & limited edition individually numbered with the name of the atelier or Artist. Limited editions produce at 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, 1000 or 2500, will have a marking indicating which number the piece is. the Smallest production, the most valuable the piece is.Below are few Limoges companies and Limoges markings, as well as a little history and common questions. For info about Limoges Porcelain or for an estimate of your Limoges box, please send us 2 pictures of the piece you want us to appraise, 1 of the piece & 1 of the signature.

LAURA-LEAH SHAW - octobre 12, 2026I’m interested in learning about the dinnerware for No 37 D&Co FRANCE with the hand written LMcE or LMcEwen and some numbers. Where can I research these items please.
They are beautiful. I do animal rescue and I’ve been gifted some pieces to sell to help with that mission. Beautiful beverage glasses, a large upright bowl, a platter, 8 lunch plates, assorted misc pieces and a couple of tea.Cups. I would love to keep them all. They’re so lovely but that’s not the purpose of the gift.
Any information you can give me would be really helpful, please,

Peter Shutts - octobre 12, 2026I have a bottle with
“Limoges
FRANCE”
On the bottom. The bottle is 5” high with stopper and 2 3/8”square.
I can’t find anything similar on your website. Can you help me with a valuation?
Carolyn - octobre 12, 2026What can you tell me pls about a small porcelain decorative plate about 3inches diameter with a last century or maybe earlier country scene, man, woman, girl and boy with sheep. Beautifully painted. The back says Limoges in a circle saying made in France, all in capitals and in an egg shaped circle below says Limoges. There is probably no value because it has two cracks, now repaired. It dates to around 1950s. Thank you, kind regards Carolyn
Josh Peargin - octobre 12, 2026My grandfather was an antique dealer and gave my mother a Limoges 50 years ago which he said belonged to Maria Antoinette. Could there be any truth to that?

Suzanne Brooks - octobre 12, 2026Hello, I have a sweet little cream pitcher with B &CO ( apparently the 1900 mark), an impressed digit 7, a painted code P3406 in tiny print ( black), and a hard to read Purple stamp with what lloks like a drawing of a hand with words Montreal Canada. I am wondering if this is indeed from Canada or stamped as it entered the country for resale. Further description of th epitcher: it has silver interlacing around the top. It stands 3 3/4 inches high. Can you tell me any more information about it? Thank you , hoping to hear from you. Regards,
